Career Journey:
Zaka Ashraf was born on September 9, 1952, into a business and farming family in Punjab. He pursued his education at Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur, and Cadet College Petaro, graduating in 1973.
He was first appointed as the chairman of the PCB in October 2011. However, his tenure was marked by legal and political challenges, leading to multiple removals and reinstatements. In 2012, he was elected as the chairman of the Development Committee of the Asian Cricket Council. His leadership focused on improving Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure and bringing international cricket back to the country.
In June 2023, Zaka Ashraf was nominated again for the PCB chairmanship. After Najam Sethi’s withdrawal, he took charge in July 2023. His third term was short-lived as he resigned in January 2024, passing the role to Mohsin Naqvi.
