Political Career:
Dreshak began his political journey by contesting in the 2008 general elections for the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from PP-248 (Rajanpur-II) as a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate. However, he lost the election, securing 15,452 votes against an independent candidate.
In the 2013 general elections, he successfully won a seat in the National Assembly from NA-175 (Rajanpur-II) as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He received 110,573 votes, defeating independent candidate Dost Muhammad Mazari.
During the 2018 general elections, he ran as an independent candidate from NA-194 (Rajanpur-II) but lost to Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after receiving 64,739 votes.
In 2024, Dreshak made a successful political comeback, winning a seat in the National Assembly from NA-188 (Rajanpur-II) as a PML-N candidate. He secured 85,979 votes, defeating Ahmad Ali Khan Dreshak, an independent candidate backed by PTI.
