During his tenure, he successfully aligned the company with international best practices, managed operations across three manufacturing plants, and secured key partnerships with renowned automotive companies like Honda and Suzuki. Umar’s strategic insights and operational expertise earned Thal Engineering prestigious Corporate Excellence Awards in 2015 and 2016.
Umar has also held the role of Chief Financial Officer at Dawlance, where he spearheaded a major restructuring initiative, streamlined supply chains, and negotiated a key acquisition deal with Arçelik. Earlier in his career, he worked at ICI Pakistan Limited in various senior roles, gaining valuable experience in finance, operations, and strategy.
